BibleDeck was built around a quiet idea: scripture memorization should feel personal, calm, and yours alone.
We don't collect personal data. No accounts, no analytics, no third-party trackers. Everything you do in BibleDeck stays on your device — the only exception is when you tap Share on a custom path, which uploads the path's title and verse references so a share link can be generated.
Almost nothing. BibleDeck has no account system. The only time anything leaves your device is if you choose to share a custom path — see "Sharing custom paths" below for what's sent and why. Otherwise, no information is collected or transmitted.
To make the app work, BibleDeck stores the following locally on your phone using the operating system's standard storage (AsyncStorage on iOS):
This data never leaves your device. If you delete the app, it's gone. We have no copy and no way to recover it.
Some features rely on system permissions you can grant or deny at any time:
BibleDeck does not embed any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Bible translations (Berean Standard Bible, King James Version) are bundled into the app at build time — no network requests are made to fetch verses.
BibleDeck offers optional one-time tips through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Tips are processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment information, billing address, or Apple ID. The app only knows, locally on your device, that a tip occurred so it can show a thank-you. No tip data leaves your device.
If you choose to share a custom path, BibleDeck uploads two things to our server at bibledeck.app so a share link can be generated: the path's title (which you authored) and its verse references. Nothing else is uploaded — no account info, no device IDs, no personal data. The server stores this minimal data so anyone with the share link can open the path. Sharing is always initiated by you; nothing is uploaded unless you tap Share.
BibleDeck is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from children — because it does not collect information from anyone.
If we ever change how BibleDeck handles data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date above. Substantive changes will be flagged in the app.
